Longwall Effects

Longwall mining damage image of James Kinney Farmstead main house, showing digging of new french drain around the house. The original french drain was damaged by pre-mitigation trenching which was done around the house. Due to this lack of drainage and subsidence damaged basement concrete floors, the basement has flooded several times since mining occured.

Archaeologist Jamie Vosvick is monitoring the digging of the new french drain in order to recover any historical artifacts which are unearthed.
